The PME Cell is the nodal unit of the institute responsible for research planning, priority setting, project monitoring and periodic evaluation of ongoing and completed research programmes. It ensures that research activities remain aligned with national priorities in cattle science and animal husbandry, and that outcomes are documented, reviewed and reported in a timely manner.
The Cell coordinates the Institute Research Committee (IRC), Research Advisory Committee (RAC) and Quinquennial Review Team (QRT) meetings, maintains project MIS records, and compiles the institute's Annual Report, Action Plan and Vision documents in line with ICAR guidelines.
Identification and prioritisation of thrust areas for research in consultation with scientists, stakeholders and the Research Advisory Committee.
Assistance to scientists in formulating technically sound and time-bound research project proposals in the prescribed ICAR format.
Continuous monitoring of physical and financial progress of ongoing institute and externally funded projects through periodic reviews.
Evaluation of completed projects and technologies for their scientific, social and economic impact and relevance.
Compilation of Annual Reports, Action Plans, Vision documents and other statutory reports required by ICAR headquarters.
Organising and servicing meetings of the IRC, RAC, QRT and Institute Management Committee (IMC).
