Functions :To plan, coordinate and execute cattle research in the country
Duties :Genetic upgradation of crossbred cattle to evolve a national milch breed “Frieswal”, improvement of indigenous cattle breeds and genetic evaluation of crossbred as well as indigenous cattle under field conditions. The Institute is also undertaking research in physiological, nutritional, reproductive and managemental aspects for increasing the productivity and profitability.
